A pull from a branch of the repository itself now takes that branch with it, in the same push as the merge, so merged branches stop piling up on origin.

  • The branch stays when another open pull targets it or brings it in (a stacked pull keeps its base), when it is the target or default branch, or when it is in a fork.
  • knotless merge <url> <at-uri> --keep-branch and MCP merge's keep_branch keep it. The CLI prints deleted <branch> on a second line; MCP answers deleted.

Tests: forks_pulls_reviews_and_merges merges a stacked pair and a kept branch in one repository; the private-space merge now deletes its fix branch. lint and cov (100%) pass.
